March 3, 2008 - The Hush Sound

The Hush Sound, Charlotte Sometimes, The Secret Handshake, Paper Rival 3/3/08 @ The Mad Hatter (Covington, KY)

This show was for Brianna's birthday! I've wanted to see the Hush Sound for so long. And the Mad Hatter is one of the tiniest venues around, it was amazing. We got there after the first band (I don't even know their name) and still managed to get second row. I really loved Charlotte Sometimes. She didn't even have a record deal when we saw her, so that was cool. The Secret Handshake got everyone excited, as we were getting a little tired. Paper Rival had some pretty deep stuff...it was crazy. I didn't get any setlists this show, sorry.

Bob & Greta's vocals were ASTOUNDING. The Hush Sound has some serious talent. One standout song was their cover of "Heat Wave." It was awesome.

December 13, 2007 - Hannah Montana

Hannah Montana, Jonas Brothers 12/13/07 @ UsBank Arena (Cincinnati, OH)

I'm not even entirely sure that this deserves its own blog post. I'm not too fond of the Jo Bros or Hannah Montana...but I had to take my little sister. Honestly, I've never seen her happier. And hey, I met Billy Ray Cyrus. So it wasn't a total bust.

I also saw JAYNELL! =]

November 26, 2007 - Tegan and Sara

Tegan and Sara, Northern State 11/27/07 @ Newport Music Hall (Columbus, OH)

Molly and I decided to force my uncle to drive us to Columbus on a rainy monday just for Tegan and Sara. Our lives will never ever be the same. That concert had changed me in so many ways...

Lesley was my hero that night. While we fought rainy traffic in the 2.5 hour drive, Lesley had been sitting outside the venue since noon. When Molly, Uncle Ed, & I came up to NMH, she gladly let us join her. Afterall, we were wearing matching Brandi Carlile jackets(:

Northern State opened up the show. They're 3 white, girl rappers. Political power rap, that is. My uncle couldn't stand them. However, I LOVED THEM. They had so much energy, and really got the crowd excited. Spero, Sprout, and Hesta Prynn really got it going on!

Then...TEGAN AND SARA! They absolutely blew my mind. It was unbelievable. They played songs I wasn't expecting (like City Girl) and I've never had so much fun, singing along, dancing, screaming, listening to their banter[: The show was filmed too, and streamed online. How cool is that?! AND WE WERE IN THE FRONT ROW. This picture basically sums up the whole night....

After the show, I bought a crazy amount of merch. Lindsey (merch girl) thought I was funny and adorable for buying so much. Embarrassing? Yes. Then I bought a Northern State shirt, which i adore. It's bubblegum blue with hot pink writing that says CAN I KEEP THIS PEN? Love it. And then I bought a poster, which they signed! Yay. Then we drove home listening to the sweet sounds of Under Feet Like Ours while Molly fell asleep on my lap. Then we got up 4 hours later for school. Perfect[:

November 21, 2007 - Candice Clark

Candice Clark 11/21/07 @ The Mansion (Cincinnati, OH)

I somehow found Candice on MySpace, and thought it was way cool that she lives in Cincinnati! I immediately bought her EP on iTunes, it's amazing! She kept me posted on her shows, and we did a Tieger/Clark girls trip to see her!

She played songs by Flyleaf, Avril Lavigne, and Kelly Clarkson as well as all her own! Such a fun show, Candice is a great gal, hope to see her more in the future!

October 28, 2007 - Pat Monahan & I Nine

Pat Monahan & I Nine 10/28/07 @ Madison Theatre (Covington, KY)

I think this was my first show at The Madison, now my favorite place on earth! The driving force behind going to this show was to see Luis play for Pat (Pat's the lead vocalist/writer for Train). And Miranda's in love with Pat. The show was so great, so much energy. The opener, I Nine, was really cool. The girl's (Carmen) vocals were like Anna Nalick's, with a rock edge. Charlotte Sometimes is the same way, who actually opened for Pat the first half of the tour.

At one point during Pat's set, I wasn't paying much attention, and Luis slid on his knees infront of me, and the neck/head of his guitar almost went through my actual neck/head. It was freaky. Samantha and Luis found it hilarious that my life was dangered in that instant. Haha.

Pat played a pretty long set, a good mix of his solo stuff, Train stuff, and covers. Well-rounded show[: We talked to Luis, Pat, and the rest of the band after the show. Luis GAVE ME HIS HAT. I kept stroking it, so he was like "Happy Birthday a month late!" And gave it to me. Gotta love him.

With Pat, after Luis stuck his hat on my head.

October 26, 2007 - Ok Go

Ok Go & Ava Raiders 10/26/07 @ Clowes Memorial Hall (Indianapolis, IN)

Third Ok Go show! This was a really cool concert in the aspect that Ok Go invited the first few rows of the audience (which we were in) to come sit/stand on the stage for a bunch of unplugged songs. I got really cool videos of that, except I'm so behind and they're not on youtube.

Oh, and I knew a lot more songs that were played this time around, heh.

October 5/6, 2007 - TSwift, DPeck

Brad Paisley, Rodney Atkins, Taylor Swift 10/5/07 @ Riverbend (Cincinnati, OH)

Second Taylor Show! This was so much fun. We were pretty far away from the stage, totally different from Wal Mart, but it was cool. We got to meet Taylor. I complimented her on her lyrics to "Cold As You" and she said I was the first one to do so and she really appreciated it[:

Danielle Peck 10/6/07 @ Aurora County Fair (IN)

Third Danielle Peck show in 5 months. By this point, the whole band knew who we were. It was exciting. Danielle's shows get more and more enthusiastic everytime, gotta love her! I also met a bunch of people from the DP Fanclub at this show, good times!
